Every child grows and develops at an individual speed. In this article, you can find milestones babies generally achieving from 6 to 12 month old:

1. PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT:

6-9 m.o:
• Sleeping 15 hours a day
• Start sitting up without support
• May bounce when held in standing position
• Rolls in both directions

9-12 m.o:
• Sleeping 14 hours a day
• Pulls up into standing position
• Crawls

2. LANGUAGE:

6-9 m.o:
• Responds to hearing their name
• May add consonant sounds to vowels
• May communicate with gestures

9-12 m.o:
• Points
• Knows what “no” means
• Imitates sounds and gestures

3. SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL:

6-9 m.o:
• Brings hands up to mouth
• Passes things from one hand to the other
• Enjoys mirrors
• Knows when a stranger is present

9-12 m.o:
• Watches things fall
• Looks for hidden things
• May be clingy or prefer familiar people
